When debating, know that the federal standards for setting yellow lights force drivers to run red lights. The standard themselves oppose Newton's Laws of Motion. Enforcing red light running laws to the precision of RLCs is identical to passing a law forbidding gravity.

Mr. McCoy is a defender of what? The State's Treasury?

Last week he couldn't add three, two number columns on the increased rebuild cost of Lake Delhi. November 2010: $6,000,000. December 2011: $12,000,000.

Refused to add to the numbers up. Has already made up his mind to fund dam even though the study is not complete, the easements have not been acquired, and there is the same public access as before.

But, I guess we are safe from radios that may have been the best fit for the DNR--or at least had the best buttons.

Thats right got yellow light changed quick no time to stop. Also there is a case in Davenport Iowa that refunded a driver because its is not legal to make these tickets civil.A per its state law it is a traffic violation and yet we have officers signing off on the tickets. You are sopose to have picture of the driver as well and there isn't even when requested. We are entitled to get report on the light specs adjacent to the camera to insure last inspection is current with the laws and they aren't avaible to the public either. Its is wrong that the city got so greedy on the fines as well. We don't go around trying to speed or go through lights. At least if had been police officer there would of seen the change in light and used his discrection to give a ticket and wouldn't of been such a high ticket if one was issued. We already are struggling through this economy. Whats wrong with the council could of at least made the fine managable. Can't even register the car until fine is paid and charged 35 dollar late fee on top of it. SHAME ON THE CITY COUNCIL

It is NOT an issue of local control. Tourism which is important to any state, can be greatly and negatively affected by cameras and that affects the whole state. Also, many cities ABUSE photo enforcement and use it as a cash cow without any engineering justification for alleged safety benefits. END THE SCOURGE NOW!

So happy to see an otter! I'm originally from Dyersville and the company I co-founded is using an otter too! Thanks to the encouragement and enlightenment of the other founder, I realized how amazing otters are. Great choice and proud to be from the area.

Recently I dialed 911 after a dog was aggressively chasing, barking, growling and otherwise acting vicious as I walked in the country on a lunch break.

I was appalled to learn there were no ordinances, leash laws or other policies to deal with excessively aggressive animals.

The outcome? I was told to find another route. We are new to the state of Iowa, but I can tell you I have not lived somewhere where the animal had more rights than the person.

In fact, it was pointed out to me that it was "unusual" to walk/job in the country and that farm dogs have run free for years.

Farm dogs are not the problem. Dogs that repeatedly try to bite people are the problem. Ultimately, I chose another route. This will only lessen the issue for so long - until an unknowing child comes along and gets bit through no fault of their own.

The cameras (indirectly) block emergency vehicles - because cars stopped at a camera hesitate to get out of the way! Other side effects: Rearenders, $$$ sent to Oz, AZ or Goldman-Sachs, where it won't come back, and tourists and shoppers driven away.
Worse, a false expectation of safety, because cameras can't stop the real late runners, who cause the accidents. (If cameras worked, camera sellers wouldn't have the crash videos they supply to the media.)
Want safety, no side effects?
To cut car/pedestrian accidents, train your kids not to step out just 'cuz the walk sign came on.
To cut nuisance running (a fraction of a second late), lengthen the yellows. It's cheap to do so can be done all over town.
The dangerous real late (multiple seconds) runs won't be stopped by the mere presence of a camera, because the runner won't know (a lost tourist) or won't remember (a distracted or impaired "local") that there's a camera up ahead. They're not doing it on purpose! To cut the real late runs, improve the visual cues that say, "Intersection ahead." Florida's DOT found that better pavement markings (paint!) cut running by up to 74%. Make the signal lights bigger, add backboards, and put the poles on the NEAR side of the corner. Put brighter bulbs in the street lights at intersections. Put up lighted name signs for the cross streets.
Who needs cameras and their side effects?

If the City wants to ram Big Brother down my throat, there must be a way to warn drivers of the cameras. This would do exactly what Aaron Rosenburg states above:When drivers see the cameras they will will check the gauges. They will quickly slow down and make the turn signal and abide by the laws that are set forth. If you miss the clear warning, then I suppose you deserve the ticket. Short of the warning, this is truly Big Brother filling the coffers of the City with the help of a company that isnt doing this for my safety; just about revenues. I'm all for revenues. Create jobs and collect your taxes!

The fight over whether to allow hunters to use lead shot or steel shot to kill mourning doves is an insane debate. That someone would enjoy killing these peaceful creatures is bad enough, but lead pellets fall on the ground or become lodged in unclaimed animals, which can be ingested by eagles and other scavengers, causing death. Guess what: Doves are just as entitled to live than any other of God's creatures.

Taking away a city park is a dicey issue. It should be done judiciously and only with good reason. Consider situations A & B:

A. If the park is seldom used, and a drain on city funds, it is a good idea to sell the park to Penford.

B. If the park is often used, and not a problem for city funds, then we should keep it to allow a place for children to congregate.

If Situation A is the reality of the park, it is not a good idea to prevent Penford from expanding simply because the Czech Musuem doesn't like having a manufacturing facility across the street.

Companies who do their best to entirely manufacture their products in the USA also need attention. Anthony Maglica, the founder of Maglight currently can not say his flashlights are made in the Us due to a law currently in place in CA. The good news is that assemblyman, Brian Jones has introduced Assembly Bill 858 to help.

They need more than a high school degree today, they need at least 2 years of college, preferrably 4, and then we're going to work with communities so they can grow economically and create more jobs for our young people

There are some foreigners who have nothing better to do, than to criticize China’s affairs. Now, China firstly does not export revolution, secondly does not export poverty and hunger, or make trouble with you, so why do you still want to complain?” said Xi. I know we must meet with China's future leader but we need to understand who we are dealing with. Essentially Xi is saying, as long as we are only oppressing our own people, America should butt out.
This shows that China will continue to be ruled by an authoritarian regime for the next generation of leaders.

Why then do American universities who treasure academic freedom make deal after deal with China? The University of Michigan has a joint campus in Shanghai that was the source of the cyber attacks on Google last year. There are many other American universities that have similar deals with China.
Barack Hussein Obama has a court order eligibility hearing January 26, 2012 in Georgia.

(EXCERPTS)

" The matter before this Court has nothing to do with the birth place of the Defendant, nor does it assert that he is not a citizen of the United States. In fact, limited to this challenged primary election, the Plaintiff will stipulate that the Defendant was born in Hawaii, that the Defendant is a U.S. Citizen, and that the Defendant was Constitutionally-qualified to serve as a U.S. Senator.

The Plaintiff makes no assertion regarding the Defendant’s passports, or social security number, or any other fact related to the Defendant, other than the one fact asserted at the beginning of this opposition: that the Defendant’s father was not a U.S. citizen.

Contrary to the Defendant’s assertions, the issue presented by the Plaintiff is grounded on one uncontestable fact, and one clear definition from the U.S. Supreme Court. See Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162, 167 (1875).

Despite all of his attempts to misdirect this Court from the one substantive issue presented, the Defendant has failed to present grounds for dismissal. The Plaintiff respectfully requests that this Court consider his simple yet critically important grounds to prohibit the Defendant from appearing on the Georgia ballot:

It is undisputed that President Obama’s father was never a U.S. citizen. To Plaintiffs’ knowledge Mr. Obama has never denied the fact that his father was not a U.S. Citizen, nor has he ever made any statements contrary to this fact.

The U.S. Supreme Court has defined “natural-born citizens” as “all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens.” See Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162, 167 (1875).

The Court in Happersett did go on to state that other sub-categories of people may or may not be within the broader term “citizen.” However, it did so only after specifically identifying the narrower category “natural-born citizens.” Id. The Happersett Court clearly understood and established that “citizen” is a much broader term than “natural-born citizens.”

Its discussion of “citizen” does not negate or alter its earlier definition of the term “natural-born citizens.” See Id. at 167-168. This precedent has never been questioned by any subsequent Supreme Court.

This precedent is binding.

Because it is undisputed that Mr. Obama’s father was not a U.S. citizen, the Defendant can never be a natural-born citizen, as that term was defined by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Therefore, the Defendant cannot meet the Constitutional requirements to hold the office of President. See U.S. Const. Art. II Section 1.5 Georgia election code requires such a candidate to be stricken from any Georgia ballot. §21-2-5."

President Reagan may as well go down as the worst president in American history. Its dip shits like you who enjoyed the blowing of the stock market bubble and housing market bubble. Keynsianism is an idiotic way to go about the economy. We need to balance the budget, and stop spending money on foreign soil. And a 15% income tax.. How about 0% just like President Ron Paul wants... RON PAUL 2012.. figure it out and pull the sheet down from your eyes

As a resident of WDM, we have history and culture and to say that we are a new suburb infrastructure expanding at the expense of Des Moines. That is hilarious. You should check your history and then you learn about Valley Junction and the floods of the nineties as well as the history of the town. We have all income levels. We are culturally and economically diverse.

When do individual freedom of choice get lost to the claims of protect health, protect security and all the other flags that get raised in the claim of the betterment of society?

I am not a smoker nor do I use these types of products. But if I wanted to I should be allowed the choice not have that choice made for me.

I have moved into house with quarry tiles on whole ground floor which were under carpets and lino etc. Thye have paint on in places and generally look messy but apart from that are in good condition. What is the best place to clean them - is there any special product I can buy?

Also have just had bathroom done and there is still some grey grout on the black floor tiles that we've cleaned loads but is not coming up. Has anyone used something that has removed grout well?
Thanks.
